‘Values in song’ is a professional recording designed to be used as a tool to support the work of Values Education in schools. Endorsed by the Australian Government, the songs have been written as a professional learning resource and are an effective way of teaching children values and communication. While taken from the Musical “sPlat”, these songs can be taught and enjoyed independently in a school, classroom and family environment. ‘sPlat is a fun and upbeat musical production credited as a resource for the Australian Governments work in Values Education. It is available to both schools and individuals as a professional learning resource. The production can be purchased as a whole package (including script, performance CD, dialogue recording, recording of all the musical songs, promotional DVD, copying rights and performance rights). Alternatively individual musical materials can be purchased (see our order form for more details and prices). Age suitability – 6-12 years Cast size – large mixed Running time – 45 minutes Synopsis ‘sPlat is a story of a young platypus called Plat who feels discouraged by the actions of his colony. The Platypus are very selfish and inflexible, refusing to assist the ducks when they have no place to go. The ducks leave behind an egg, which is found by Plat. He embarks on a journey to return the egg and discover what life is like outside of his stream. Along the way he meets up with other animals who teach him about many different values, including caring, being fair and cooperation. Each character continues on the journey with Plat. Plat and the other animals are successful in finding the ducks and they all return to the Platypus Colony to express what they learnt throughout the journey. The Platypus realise that even though they are all different, they also have things in common and can embrace life together.
